Hiatus
As I get ready to move to Denver next week, I'm going to be focusing on getting all my stuff in order for the transition into a new city and a new school. So, there probably won't be any new drawings for a while. Hopefully, this will only last a week or two. It shouldn't be long. I might post some photos or something if I get the chance.
Furniture Nightmare
I'm really proud of this one. It evolved from a square face to three square faces to a piece of furniture to a piece of furniture with a shadow to a piece of furniture with a nightmare. It's so much fun to draw things when you don't know what you're drawing until it's finished. This one was like that throughout the whole process.

New Column
I've got a little column that just went up over at POLYSEMY called Animating Change. Check it out if you like Tim Burton or animation or NASA. Also, Matthew Dallman's got a thought-provoking column called The Humanities as the Integral Tradition.
New columns will be going up pretty often, so keep checking back on the POLYSEMY homepage for more stuff.

Morphing Grid
I like drawing grids like this. When I was a kid, my dad had a golf game on his computer that I used to play, and you could push a button to make a grid on the course so you could see the hills and inclines and stuff. This reminded me of that. This also kind of reminds me of some of M.C. Escher's work.

Sublime Poetry
I love putting ambiguous images in captions. I don't know why. It's just fun. This one in particular is fun because of the goofiness of the cube's face (actually, it's more like an upside down trapazoid, but let's not get picky). It looks like he's spitting out a slimey piece of food, but then there's the sophisticated geometric message. It makes me giggle.

Little Girl with a Balloon on a Skateboard
This is a test sketch for an idea for a short children's book. I have to work out the storyline a bit more, make it more interesting. One thing I don't like about some children's books is that they're so sanitized and politically correct and safe that they're just boring. Children's books can have a little edge and still be appropriate for kids. In fact, I think it's the ones that do have that edge that become classics like Shel Silverstein's work or Dr. Seuss's work.

Commentary
I've started adding comments about each drawing on its respective flickr page. You can get to each drawing's flickr page by clicking on the image, or you can just go to my photostream page.
